Great Lakes Welding Consultants is a proven team of professionals dedicated to meeting our clients’ needs. We bring extensive experience in manufacturing processes, welding automation and robotics, as well as quality assurance systems. We have also conducted projects in process development, statistical process control, visual weld inspection, welder education, and inspection program implementation. We have extensive experience in Heavy Fabrications, Management Consulting, Quality Management systems for manufacturing, and manufacturing line optimization. We also have experience with innovation and patents.

Matt Behmlander has Bachelor of Science in Welding Engineering Technology from Ferris State University and he worked at Caterpillar for 20 years in the heavy equipment manufacturing business. During which time, he programmed welding robots. He learned how to program 15 different brands of robots. Matt also worked in research and development for 10 years while he was at Caterpillar. In research and development Matt was responsible for finding and implementing new technologies. Matt has proven innovation with 9 of his ideas became patented with Caterpillar. Matt also performed welder training and automation training during his time at Caterpillar and factory support.

Matt is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME.org).
